I started my career in print at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, where I learned the fundamentals of offset printing and pre-press. Both my teachers and I quickly discovered that my interests and talents lied more with the computers and learning the Adobe programs rather than with the printing press and getting ink everywhere. With the fundamentals in hand and a jump on learning the technical abilities of the Adobe creative suite, I was more than prepared to double-majored in Graphic Design and Electronic Imaging at UMass Dartmouth. After working at a small print shop, during and after college, I started designing at the marketing studio Cramer, where I have worked since 2008.

In both my day job and my personal time I like to problem solve. Some of my favorite work involves packaging, folds, mechanicals, and organization. Anything from a peak through die cut in a z-fold brochure to a large event with multiple EZ-walls, banners, and window clings that need to be precise, organized, and cohesive. In my free time I like to torture my father with projects like designing and building a koi pond for his back yard.  Finding the right size, shape, and structure that will support the weight of the water, protect its inhabitants and aesthetically fit with the rest of the landscape and design of his backyard. The rest of my free time is spent with friends and family, kayaking, enjoying the sights and sounds around me, and getting lost in the quiet moments.

I enjoy working collaboratively with others as well as getting lost in my own thoughts as I hunker down to get things done. I’m generally my own worst critic and value learning things, both new and old, from others.

I don’t really consider myself an artist; I have no skills with a pen or brush and envy those that do. But that is why design is not a solo thing. We all get inspiration, knowledge and help from others. We all have our own set of skills that we bring to the table; design is collaboration, from beginning to end. I cannot take sole credit for anything I have shown on this website, I contributed my knowledge and skills in various degrees and ways to bring this work to life, and that I am proud of.
